“As part of my bird print range, I painted a blue tit using some wonderful metallic watercolours. The shimmering effect reminded me of how the bird’s feathers glisten in the sun. I wanted to create a slightly autumnal feel but use colours that would work all year round, so I chose this lovely sage green as the polka dot background. The second variation featured the blue tits in a swirling arrangement in a gentle pale blue background as used here.”
